Mackenzie (she/her) was born and raised on the unceded territories of the scəw̓aθən (Tsawwassen), xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), and other Coast Salish Peoples. Music-making cultivates a space to land; to not only feel supported, but also brave and listened to. As a music therapist with an addition of 5 years of experience facilitating yoga and meditation, Mackenzie is guided by her belief that the mind and body are interconnected.
Mackenzie has clinical experience working with those in long-term and complex care, neurodiverse children, and adults with mental health and substance use disorders. She is also a 200-hour registered yoga teacher (E-RYT 200) and holds additional trainings in Holistic Bodywork and Assisted Stretching. In 2023, she completed her Level 1 training in Guided Imagery and Music (GIM).
Music is powerful, a tool that can be used when words aren’t enough to describe a certain experience. Mackenzie works collaboratively with clients to challenge self-held beliefs and nurture their strengths. Clients can expect a dose of mindfulness and compassion in each session. As a Mixed Asian queer woman, Mackenzie offers an anti-oppressive and trauma-informed lens to all of the work she does.

Tayler fell in love with music as a form of expression and connection at an early age. Singing was a vessel for communication and she experienced firsthand the impact that music can have on building a sense of belonging. This led to her completing her Bachelors Degree of Music Therapy at Capilano University and deepened her passion towards helping her clients reconnect with their own voice and, in turn, connect with their loved ones and the world beyond. While her main focus has been working with neurodivergent youth, she also has worked across the lower-mainland in long-term care facilities, community group homes for adults on the Autism spectrum, and with at-risk youth at alternative education centres. She is immensely grateful for the ways her clients continue to inspire and motivate her to remain curious and compassionate and looks forward to exploring how music can help support future clients!
